RAJOURI, Oct 31: The sleuths of Excise Department seized 130 liters of illicit liquor, smashed five working stills and arrested five persons in this connection in district Rajouri today.
Reports said Excise team led by Dr Sajad Majid, Inspector, Excise Sub-Range Rajouri, under the supervision of ETO Rajouri-Poonch Range, Ch Salam Din conducted surprise raids at several villages including Dalhori, Narian, Chingus, Argi, Khah, Potha, Gharati, Bagnoi, Saranoo and Jawahar Nagar in Rajouri town and seized 130 liters of illicit liquor. The team also destroyed 620 kg of lahan and smashed five working stills during day long operation.
Those arrested were identified as Mukesh Kumar and Liaqat Hussain of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri, Kala Ram of Khah No. 1, Payara Singh of Khah and Naresh Kumar of Agrati. They have been booked under Excise Act.
