DODA, Dec 26: Thirteen shops were gutted in fire in main market of Gandoh.
As per police sources, fire broke out in a shop at main market Gandoh and later engulfed the other shops.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started operation to douse the flames with the help of locals as fire tenders failed to reach the spot on time.
In the ablaze, thirteen shops housing in 8 residential-cum-shopping complexes got gutted.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Gandoh police has taken cognizance in this regard.
Meanwhile, the residents blocked the Thathri-Kilhotran road for around two hours to express their anguish against the delay by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
“As fire tenders fail to reach the spot on time, around thirteen shops housing in 8 residential-cum-shopping complexes got completely gutted”, the residents said, adding that there were similar fire incidents in the past but no break though has been achieved by the police.
Presuming the hand of some anti national elements in repeated fire incidents in Gandoh, the residents demanded high level inquiry.
