13 employees suspended for being absent from duty

MENDHAR, May 7: Thirteen employees of various departments were placed under suspension while three others including a Range Officer and Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer were charge-sheeted for being absent from duty and other charges in tehsil Mendhar today.
An official spokesman said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate  Mendhar,  Shafiq Ahmed conducted surprise visit to several Government offices and found at least sixteen officers absent/ missing from their offices. He placed thirteen employees  under suspension and charge-sheeted three others including a Doctor, Forest Range Officer and Agriculture Officer.
Three employees from Forest Department against whom action was taken are  Mohd Farooq (RC), Hanifa Begum  and Range Officer Mendhar.  Dr Sajjad Hussain and Ahmed Din Pharmacists from Veterinary Department,  Sub Divisional Agri Officer Mohd Rafiq, S. Kour, Mohd Akram and Mohd Rafiq (junior) from  Agriculture Department,  Mohd Anwar Khan (Sr Asstt absent since April 4), Zahida Khan computer operator from  BDO Office, Dr K H Shah (ISM) while M S Kataria, Shabir Ahmed and Khursheed Tariq from Sheep Husbandry Department.
The SDM charge-sheeted three officers  and sought their explanation. Their names were being recommended for action to the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Sajjad Ahmed Khan.
