JAMMU, Feb 28: 13 bovine animals were rescued from Dharap area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gadigarh police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gadigarh police station laid a naka near Dharap and signaled a truck for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals but the accused smugglers managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 40/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Gadigarh police post and manhunt launched to nab the accused bovine smugglers.
Police team led by Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Showkat Amin rescued the bovine animals under the supervision of SHO Satwari Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
