122 Bn BSF celebrates silver jubilee

JAMMU, Apr 17: 122 Battalion, Border Security Force, which was raised on April 16, 1988 at Anupgarh, Rajasthan, celebrated its silver jubilee at Paloura Camp, Jammu after completion of 25 years of glorious service to the nation.
Rajeev Krishna, IPS, Inspector General of BSF, Forntier HQ Jammu, who was the chief guest  congratulated and appreciated Manish Aul, Commandant, 122 Bn BSF and his Battalion for completing 25 years of glorious service to the nation.
To celebrate the occasion, a colorful cultural programme was organized by the troops of the Battalion, a party of Song and Drama Division of Jammu, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Jazz and Brass Band of BSF also displayed an entertaining show. In this cultural programme Jawans gave eye catching performance of patriotic songs, folk songs, bhangra and skits which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
The chief guest also distributed mementos and sweets to all retirees and participants of cultural programme.
N S Jamwal, DIG/PSO, Hardeep Singh, DIG BSF Jammu besides other senior officers were also present.
Barakhana was also organized for Jawans, Subordinating Officers and Officers of the Battalion.
Since beginning, Unit has performed various operational duties at border, internal security duty, Line of control and counter Insurgency operations. The unit has always maintained the true spirit of professional acumen as well as service to the countrymen.
