KATHUA, Oct 17: District and Session Court Kathua today convicted an accused with 12 years rigorous imprisonment for offence under NDPS Act committed by him in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lakhanpur along with fine of Rs one lakh.
Accused namely Iqbal Hussain, S/o Manzoor Hussain, R/o Seri Chowan, tehsil Haveli district Poonch was convicted in case FIR No 111/16 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act of PS Lakhanpur with 12 years rigorous imprisonment along with fine of Rs one lakh which shall extend for two years in case of default of payment.
Kathua police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. “We request people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption with police”.
