12 kanal land retrieved in JDA anti-encroachment drive

JAMMU, July 21: Around 12 kanal of Government land in Khasra No. 119, Sidhra, Tehsil Jammu Khas was retrieved by Jammu Development Authority (JDA) during an anti-encroachment drive conducted today.
The drive was conducted by JDA under the firm direction of the Vice Chairman, Rupesh Kumar in close coordination with the District Administration and law enforcement agencies, resulting in the successful retrieval of 12 kanal of prime JDA land.
As part of the operation, seven unauthorized structures were demolished.
These structures had been raised illegally, violating land use regulations and causing obstruction in the planned development of the area.
This action forms part of JDA’s ongoing efforts to reclaim encroached public land and ensure adherence to legal land use and development norms.
The JDA has reiterated its commitment to continue such drives in the future, warning encroachers against illegal occupation of Government land.
Meanwhile, JDA and Jammu Police today demolished an illegally constructed residential structure belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Rajeev Nagar area of Jammu.
The operation, aimed at reclaiming Government land and dismantling the infrastructure of drug traffickers. The structure belonged to Reena alias Roopa, wife of Bobby, a known drug peddler with a long criminal record.
Multiple FIRs under the NDPS Act and RPC have been registered against her at Bahu Fort and Gangyal police stations. She was also booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in 2019 due to her continued involvement in the drug trade.
