12 fresh cases of dengue reported

JAMMU, Oct 27: Twelve fresh cases of dengue were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 382.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 2563 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 382 cases have been found positive and reports of 1789 have been found negative while result of 392 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 382 dengue cases, maximum 306 have been reported in Jammu district followed by 28 in Samba, 18 in Kathua, 10 in Udhampur, seven in Rajouri, six in Doda, three in Poonch and one each in Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 382 dengue patients, 259 were adults (169 males and 90 females) and 123 were children (74 males and 49 females).
“So far dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
