12 absentees suspended

KUPWARA, July 9: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today paid surprise visit to many Government offices and ordered suspension of 12 employees, who were found absent from the duty.
During the course of scrutiny of attendance register/biometric attendance at IIT Lalpora, 12 employees were found unauthorizedly absent. Orders for placing these absentees under suspension were issued on the spot.
The DDC said that absenteeism will not be tolerated and all HODs, employees in the district shall ensure punctuality for better delivery of services.
The DDC conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Lolab to get first hand appraisal of ongoing developmental works executed by various agencies. He visited PHC Lalpora, Cherkoot and exhorted the employees there to ensure punctuality for the welfare of the people. He also issued directions for fencing around the PHC for convenience of the residents.
DDC also visited JNV Model School Potshye and interacted with the staff and impressed upon the school management to include co-curricular activities as part of syllabus towards better physical and mental development of students and for infusing spirit of team work and sportsmanship from the very beginning. “Sports teaches us to function as a team, enhances mental faculties and helps build youth as responsible citizens”, said DDC on the occasion.
Later, DDC visited High School Khumriyal and interacted with the teachers and students. He issued directions to the concerned for fencing of the school premises.
DDC, during the course of his visit, interacted with the local people. Many demands and grievances were put forth by the people. The DDC assured the people that after proper scrutiny, all their grievances will be redressed within stipulated time.
