117 bottles of illicit liquor recovered, 2 bootleggers held

JAMMU, Aug 30: In an act of alertness and prompt action, 117 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered today by Jammu police.
“During intensive naka checking, a police party of police station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh rounded up a suspect namely Ramnik Singh son of Amarjeet Singh of Deoli (Bishnah) as he tried to hide himself on seeing the police party,” a police official said, adding, during search 60 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession.
He said, meanwhile, at another naka led by police team of police station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma rounded up a suspect namely Balbir Singh son of Sohan Singh of Badyal Qazain and during search 57 bottles of illicit liquor (of 180 ml) each were recovered from his possession.
In both cases, the concerned police had registered cases under Section 48 (a) and arrested the accused while further investigation started.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
