SHIMLA, Oct 11: Eleven persons, including two ITBP jawans, were killed today and 27 others injured, ten of them seriously, when a state bus fell into a gorge near Sholtu on Hindustan-Tibet National highway, 250 km from here, police said.
The bus carrying around 40 passengers including 11 ITBP jawans was on its way from Rekong Peo in Tribal Kinnaur district to Keylong via Rampur-Luri, Kinnaur SP Veena Bharti told reporters on phone.
Rescue and medical teams rushed to the spot and all the bodies were recovered. The injured have been rushed to hospital, she added.
Two ITBP jawans, two Home Guard jawans and the driver of the bus were among the deceased.
The cause of accident could not be ascertained immediately. (PTI)
