11 bridges, 28 roads, 4 WSSs nearing completion in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Jan 8: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today reviewed the status of major development and anguishing projects taken up under   R&B, PHE, PDD, Tourism, Irrigation, Flood Control, and RDD sectors, here at a meeting of civil functionaries and engineers.
Taking stock of PWD projects, the DDC was informed that   16 bridges worth Rs. 27.62 crore and 61 roads costing Rs. 97.97 crore have been approved under the languishing projects for the district.
In PHE sector, 34 schemes stand approved under the languishing projects for which Rs. 31.02 crore has been released, while 43 projects worth Rs. 2.31 crore have been     sanctioned in PHE Mechanical and 13 schemes worth Rs. 9.48 crore have been approved for I&FC sector languishing projects.
Similarly, 10 under languishing projects worth Rs. 1.61 crore have been sanctioned under education sector.
The DDC took scheme wise review of projects undertaken by different departments and funded under the languishing projects and CAPEX Budget 2018-19.
It was informed that the work on all the approved bridges and other projects has been started and are at different phases of execution.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on the issues related to effective implementation of vital schemes in the district. The officers were asked to expedite the pace of work and complete these within the stipulated time frame. He also directed officers to conduct regular field visits to check the quality of work and remove bottlenecks, if any.
Meanwhile, the DDC ordered constitution of District Coordination Committee under the chairmanship of ADDC to take up and sort out interdepartmental issues.
