REASI, May 14: Police Station Arnas today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 11 number of cattle besides arresting four persons in this regard.
The arrested accused were identified as Ajaz Ahmad , son of Javaid Ahmad, Saddam Hussain son of Javaid Ahmad , Mukhtiayar Ahmad son of Shoket Ali and Navid Ahmad son of Rafaqat Ali, all resident of Gajore, Bharakh Pouni, district Reasi.
They were intercepted at Gundi Nallah, Tehsil Thakerakot after Police Post Thanol received an information from reliable source that some persons were carrying bovines on foot towards Kashmir. A Police party, led by ASI Kuldeep Raj caught the smugglers and rescued the animals. Later a case FIR number 37/2020, under section 188 IPC, was also registered in this connection at P/S Arnas.
