11 bovine animals rescued

JAMMU, Feb 26: Police today rescued eleven bovine animals, while the smugglers managed to escape.
Police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Jhajjar Kotli police station led by SHO Parvez Sajjad under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03C-9041.
During checking, police recovered 11 bovine animals, while the smugglers managed to flee from the spot leaving behind the vehicle, he added.
A case has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and manhunt launched to arrest the accused.
Meanwhile, Nagrota police seized a Tata mobile for violating provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.
Police party led by SHO OP Chib under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary seized the vehicle bearing registration number JKO2AB-9104 for violating MV Act, spokesman added.
