UDHAMPUR, Apr 3: Udhampur Police today rescued 11 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir and also arrested the smugglers besides seizure of the truck involved in smuggling bid.
Reports said that acting on specific information, Udhampur Police laid a naka on the National Highway near Jakhani and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03A-6556, in which 11 bovine animals were being smuggled. Police seized the truck and rescued the animals. Two persons, involved in the smuggling, were also arrested. They have been identified as Sharief, son of Mohd Hanief, of Nagrota and Mohd Mushtaq, son of Mohd Yausuf of Maitera Ramban.
A case under Section 188-RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Udhampur Police Station.
