JAMMU, June 24: Mechanical, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics and Communication and Civil Engineering students found placements in Core Engineering Companies.
The campus placement season 2017-18 saw 118 top notch Multinational Companies from Core Engineering branches selecting 1097 students from Chandigarh University, Gharuan.
While giving details about the campus placements, Dr RS Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University said, “There has been 30 percent more number of core branch companies for the selection of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Automobile and Chemical Engineering students as compared to previous year.
More than 46 companies selected 291 students from Mechanical & Automobile Engineering branch offering pay packages up to 8.6 LPA.
Top Automobile companies which included Mahindra & Mahindra, TAFE, Royal Enfield, Hyundai, MRF have selected Automobile Engineering students while companies like Godrej Jindal Steel, AIS Glass, Tata Power, Tata Technologies, Schindler have recruited students from Mechanical Engineering. Number of MNCs for the selection of Civil and Chemical Engineering students touched 35 which selected more than 178 students during campus placement session. Top names like L&T Constructions, Samsung Engineering, Shapoorji Pallonji, Eveready Industries, Mahindra Susten, Deepak Nitrate, ATS Infrastructure selected the Civil and Chemical Engineering students. The salary package for Civil & Chemical touched a new high and the highest package of 15 LPA was offered to the students.
While talking about placements of Electronics & Communication and Electrical branches, Vice Chancellor said, “More than 37 companies recruited 628 engineering students from these branches and the highest package offered touched 10 LPA”. On one hand selection of Electronics & Communication Engineering students were done by top notch telecom & mobile manufacturing companies which included Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communication, Verizon, Lava while electronics and home appliance companies like Panasonic, Samsung also selected the students from these branches.
Apart from core manufacturing and engineering companies, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering students were also selected by IT Companies which included Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Cognizant, IBM and Wipro, Capgemini.
