Srinagar, Jan 24: All Jammu and Kashmir 10+2 Contractual Teachers Association today held a protest and demanded regularization of their services.
Scores of teachers assembled at Press Enclave here and raised slogans in favor of their demands. Amid intense sloganeering the teachers demanded regularization of their services. They accused Government of failing to come up with a policy for them and adopting a dual policy in approaching the issue.
President 10+2 Contractual Association, Tajendra Singh, told reporters that they have been demanding regularization of services for last several years but to no avail,”we have been working tirelessly for last seven-eight years and Government is rewarding us with an insecure future. If they can frame a job policy for ReT-teacher why aren’t they doing anything for us,” he said.
He said that the Government has formed several committees regarding the issue but has failed to frame a policy. “The file our regularization policy is not reaching anywhere,” he said.
The protestors sought Lt. Governor’s intervention in the issue. “We want him to come to our rescue now as all other means have failed,” he said.
