10,117 Indians visited PoK since 2005

Srinagar, July 2: State Government today said 10,117 Indian citizens have visited Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) since year 2005 – when bus service was started between divided parts of the State – upto June 9 this year through Line of Control (LoC) routes and crossing points.
In a written reply to a question of National Conference lawmaker, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, the Minister incharge Home said 20, 983 persons from PoK have visited Jammu and Kashmir since 2005 through the LoC routes and crossings.
The Minister said that the Government attaches a high priority to the strengthening of cross-LoC trade and travel which is an important Confidence Building Measure (CBM) and for strengthening cross-LoC trade, various measures have been taken in consultation with Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
