100 SS activists courted arrest

SAMBA, Jan 6: Shiv Sena (SS) Balasahib Thakeray activists led by its State president Ashok Gupta were court arrested here today.
They were protesting against the power failure in Samba district which has led to the problems of the people.
Addressing the protestors earlier Ashok Gupta said that Jammu region is facing severe power crisis and the PDD despite collecting heavy tariff from the consumers has failed to maintain the power supply.
He said the position is worst in Samba as in some areas people face over 12 hour power cut. He warned that his organization will launch a mass movement in case the power supply did not improve in the region.
About 100 activists of the Party offered for court arrest and they were taken to district Police Lines Samba and released later. Besides Mr Gupta, Samba district president of the Party Ramesh Gupta was also court arrested. They were taken into two police vehicles to the DPL, Samba.
