POONCH, Nov 7: In a major crack down on bovine smugglers, Surankote police teams on the directions of SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey seized ten Tata Mobile vehicles loaded with 63 bovine animals and arrested ten smugglers during naka on Mughal Road in Surankote area last night.
Official sources said that police teams led by SHO Surankote, Anzir Mir and SI Sukhbir Singh during special nakas near Behramgalla and Bafliaz on Mughal Road under the supervision of SDPO Surankote, Asgar Malik last night seized ten Tata Mobile vehicles and found 63 bovine animals being smuggled to Kashmir in them via Mughal Road.
The police rescued all the cattle and seized all the ten vehicles bearing registration Numbers: JK-11A/ 1398, JK11B/9450, JK02AS/2703, JK02BJ/7312, JK11A/4055, JK11B/4395, JK11A/0307, JK11A/0485, JK02DL/3365 and JK02AP/6686. Different case FIRs 262/2017 to 273/2017 were registered against them.
Those arrested were identified as Shezad Hussain, son of Barket Hussain from Lah, Thannamandi; Bashrat Hussain, son of Mohd Shabir from Farwalla Rajouri; Shezad Salam, son of Abdul Salam from Rajdani Thannamandi, Tariq Mehmood, son of Dilpazir from Manyal Gali Thanna; Afaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Ramzan from Tota Morha Thanna; Faheem Ajaz, son of Abdul Majeed from Palangar Thanna; Mohd Arif, son of Wazir Mohd from Manyal Galli Thanna; Abdul Qayoom, son of Abdul Majeed from Aiti Rajouri; Mohd Shabir, son of Ghulam Hassan and Jameel Ahmed, son of Mohd Hussain, both from Sathra in Mandi.
