10 MC Councilors serve no confidence motion against president, vice president

KATHUA, July 2: The annoyed Municipal Councilors of Municipal Committee Kathua (MCK) have submitted No Confidence Motion against the present Municipal Committee president, Naresh Sharma and vice president, Rekha Kumari to Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, OP Bhagat today.
According to sources, the No Confidence Motion signed by 10 members of MC Kathua was submitted in the office of DC Kathua this evening. It was signed by Municipal councilors, Ravinder Pathania, Meera Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Karan Kumar, Randhir Singh, Pushpa Rani, Vandana Andotra, Ajay Kumar, Bupinder Raj and Joginder Pal, sources added.
Sources said the letter has two more names without their signatures. When the letter was submitted only eight councilors were present. The majority of councilors among them were independents and while some of them were of BJP.
They appealed the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua O P Bhagat to call a meeting as earliest as possible and demanded action as per rule and urged him to ask the president and vice president to show majority. There were 21 Municipal Councilors in MC Kathua out of which one councilor, Rajinder Singh Bubby has already resigned from his post. At present out of 20 councilors, 10 submitted their letter of No Confidence against the present Committee and said that the Council and councilors were ignored in the important decisions being taken by the Council. Even the discriminative attitude was also adopted and wards of favourites were given priority. In such circumstances, most of the wards were ignored and present team has no right to stay in office.
