10-day long Basohli paintings workshop concludes

JAMMU, Sept 27 : The 10 days long Basohli Paintings workshop by Indian Art Center which was inaugurated by State president BJP, Sat Sharma (C.A) on September 18 concluded today.
On this occasion Dr. Nirmal Gupta Chairperson State Social Welfare Board was chief Guest and guests of honour were Ajay Pargal senior BJP leader & Ishant Gupta State secretary BJYM. The organizers of exhibition were Poonam Bhalgotra chief organizer, M.K. Wadhera Organizer artist.
The guests were welcomed by organizers by presenting beautiful paintings of Basohli and the chief guest distributed participation certificates among participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Nirmal Gupta congratulated M.K. Wadhera for his very good initiative to promote and teach students about Basohli art. She added that these types of talent will be promoted on higher scales. Nirmal Gupta said that she herself in her young age was also willing to learn this art but her family did not allow her to learn due to many difficulties like transportation, finance and others but she motivated the students and said them that they feel themselves very lucky that they all have resources and most importantly support from their family to learn art.
She request all students to take it serious and promote this art on a very larger scale. M.K. Wadhera said that he used to teach all the students about how to make paintings. He added that Ch. Lal Singh is the chief patron of Indian Art Centre. Wadhera complimented Sat Sharma (CA) for providing painting kit costing near about ten thousand to a talented student who could not afford it. Other prominent persons who were present included Dr. Ashu Vashist (English) GWC Gandhi Nagar, Prof. Anita Sharma (Mathematics) GWC Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
