SRINAGAR, Oct 14: One person was killed and five others injured in two separate road accidents across the Valley today.
Police said a driver of the truck was killed when his truck JK01B/5477 turned turtle and fell into a deep gorge near Captain Mode, Zojilla in Sonamarg in district Ganderbal.
Police has identified the driver as Mohammad Yosuf Mir son of Assadullah Mir of Bonibagh, Kangan of district Ganderbal. A police spokesman said his body was retrieved and handed it over to his legal heirs.
Two persons were injured in a collision between a Tipper JK13B/2517 and a Tata Sumo near Akoora crossing in district Anantnag. The spokesman said both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
In another collision, two persons including a driver were injured when a Tipper UP25AT/5954 and a Tavera JK03C/8797 collided at Tarigam in district Kulgam, the spokesman said.
In another accident, a Tata Sumo JK09/7688 hit and injured Bilal Ahmad Mir, 22, son of Habibullah resident of Hatmullah near Jamkash, Bumhama in Kupwara district. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura for treatment, the spokesman said.
