RAJOURI, Nov 15: One person was killed while five were injured in two separate road accidents in Surankote area of Poonch and Nowshera area of district Rajouri since last night.
Official sources said that young Wahid Ali, son of Tariq Ali, resident of Morha Bachhai in Surankote received serious injuries when his tractor trolley over turned in the area. He was rushed to Surankote hospital where doctors declared him as dead. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. His body was handed over to the family after postmortem by police.
Meanwhile, five traders, all hailing from Surankote were injured when their car met with an accident near Nowshera bridge on Jammu-Poonch highway last night. They all were on way to Jammu for shopping when the Maruti car No. JK02AQ/6330 went out of control and was hit against a tree at a sharp curve at around 11 pm. All the injured were rushed to Sub District Hospital, Nowshera by police. Later, they were referred to GMCH Jammu.
They were identified as Yasir Iqbal (32 yrs), son of Mohd Iqbal; Shahid Ali (21), Abdul Majid (22), Showkat Ali (25) and Salim Ahmed (30). They all hail from Surankote area. The condition of Yasir was said to be serious.
