AKHNOOR, Jan 13: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Vijayanta Cricket Cup Akhnoor by 8 wickets and entered the semifinals of the ongoing New Year Cricket Cup, being played at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
The Tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club under the overall supervision of its president, Sham Singh Langeh.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Vijayanta Cricket Club scored 144 runs in 17 overs. Amit Singh was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Manik Sharma and Deepak Sharma contributed 21 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For SCC, Sham Singh Langeh took 3 wickets, while Chandan Sharma and Dilawar Singh took 2 wickets each. Pankaj Verma and Pankaj Sharma claimed one wicket each.
In reply, SCC scored the required runs in 13 overs by losing 2 wickets. Chandan Sharma, Sunny Mahi and Sumit Sharma contributed 56, 44 and 36 runs respectively. Amit Singh and Malloita claimed one wicket each for Vijayanta Cricket Club. Chandan Sharma was declared as man of the match.
