JAMMU, Jan 13: A thrilling super-over win helped Jammu Cricket (JCC) to beat Khalsa Cricket Club and seal berth in the semifinals of the 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier (JTP) T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Tawi Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Khalsa Club after winning the toss and batting first scored modest total of 115 runs in 19.1 overs. Nitin (31), Rommy (25) and Prithi (20) were the main contributors. Rahil took 3 wickets, Vivek 2 and Deepak claimed one wicket for JCC.
In reply, JCC also scored 115 runs in 20 overs and the match was decided via super-over. Shubham top scored with 22 runs, while Vivek contributed 20 runs to the total and Gurdeep chipped in with 13 runs. For Khalsa Club, Monu took 2 wickets, while KK and Nitin claimed one wicket each.
In the super-over, JCC scored 18 runs by losing one wicket, while Khalsa Cricket Club scored 16 runs to lose the match. Vivek Singh was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, United Cricket Club defeated Shastri Cricket Club by 33 runs. United Club scored 151 runs in 20 overs. Rayees played a brilliant innings of 62 runs, while Farooq and Habib contributed 25 and 20 runs respectively. Akash took 2 wickets, While Arvind, Vishal and Vickey claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Shastri Club scored 118 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lostthe match by 33 runs. Akash scored 40 runs, while Avesh and Varun contributed 16 runs each. For United Club, Habib bagged 3 wickets, while Faizan and Yasir claimed one wicket each. Rayees was declared as an of the match.
