JAMMU, Jan 4: Minister for Consumer Affairs Public Distribution Department, Tribal Affairs and Legal Metrology Department Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today inspected new CA&PD Directorate at Trikuta Nagar and also reviewed stock and supply position of essential commodities.
Pertinently, the Directorate of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department Jammu has been recently shifted from Toph Sher Khania area to Friends Colony, Trikuta Nagar.
The Minister reviewed the stock and supply position of essentials in Jammu province at a high-level meeting. Director CA&PD Jammu G S Chib, Joint Director, Deputy Directors and Assistants Directors of the Department were present at the meeting.
Taking exception to the criterion adopted by CA&PD Department for distribution of rations, the Minister instructed officers to adopt uniform scale so that transparency is maintained.
The Minister also took serious note of the complaints of shortfall of rations in Dharmari area of Reasi. The Deputy Director CA&PD, Mohammad Sayeed Khan was instructed to investigate the matter and submit a report within two days.
The Minister also instructed the Director CA&PD Department to initiate measures for weeding out deadwood from the Department.
The Minister also called for physical verification of food stores and instructed Joint Director CA&PD to prepare detailed report in this regard and submit the same before 10 January 2016. He also instructed Assistant Directors of Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Poonch to install IP Cameras at the food stores to keep a vigil on the distribution system.
The matters pertaining to carriage charges, remittances, legal issues of department and overall supply position was also discussed in the meeting.
To keep proper check on receipts, dispatches and other official matters, Director CAPD Jammu was instructed to hold regular meetings of all Assistant Directors twice in a month so that pending works could be executed on fast-track basis. He also issued instructions for finalization of directory of the department within 7 days.
Meanwhile, Minister also chaired a meeting to review the decisions taken in the 34th meeting of the Advisory Board for Gujjars & Bakerwals. The meeting discussed the matters pertaining to forest, planning, social welfare, CA&PD and Tribal Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Finance, Secretary to Government Tribal Affairs Department, Secretary CA&PD, Secretary Tribal Affairs, Chief Wildlife Warden and other senior officers of concerned departments.
