Udhampur, Dec 22: Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali reviewed the implementation of National Food Security Act in Udhampur and Reasi in a meeting of officers convened at Udhampur.
Minister of State for Finance and IT Pawan Kumar Gupta and MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat were also present.
Choudhary Zulfkar reviwed the enrolment process and updation of forms on national database. He further discussed and reviewed the progress achieved by district administration Reasi and Udhampur for ensuring universal coverage of all families under NFSA, transparent mechanism for inclusion and exclusion, and addressing the complaints and concerns related to implementation of the new scheme of ration distribution in State.
Minister of State for Finance and IT Pawan Kumar Gupta appreciated the proactive role of district administration in door-to-door enrollment and awareness generation and called upon the Minister for CAPD for enhancement in ration quota. He also assured early release of funds from Finance Department for timely dispatch of ration by CAPD. MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat called for special dispensation for people living in hilly areas, nomads, weaker sections and workers for ration supply on priority.
Earlier, District Develop-ment Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary presented a resume of activities taken up by district administration for implementation of NFSA. He informed that forms have been received for all 1, 17,000 families and data punching is under progress. Under Priority Category 3, 18,000 persons will be covered and 2,00,817 under Non-Priority while 19,512 will be in exclusion category.
DDC Reasi Sushma Chauhan made a presentation regarding enrollment process in Reasi wherein 65,000 families have been enrolled under NFSA and data updation has been started with target of 500 families per day. She also briefed about the enrollment process and awareness campaign.
Zulfikar Ali appreciated the Grievance Redressal and Monitoring Cell established in DDC office Udhampur and administrative mechanism of Zones assigned to senior officers for awareness, enrollment, vigilance and monitoring. He directed that people inhabiting hilly areas of both the districts shall be ensured to be covered.
Director CAPD G S Chib, Director Tribal Affairs M S Choudhary, SSP Suleiman Choudhary, Jt Controller Legal Metrology, ADDC Arvind Sharma, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, CPO Rakesh Jamwal, district and sectoral officers and CAPD officials of Udhampur and Reasi were present in the meeting.
