RAJOURI, Sept 8: Apni Party vice president and former Minister, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali has expressed concern over increasing unemployment in J&K.
Interacting with youth at Kotranka in Rajouri, Ali said that employment opportunities have reduced as the vacant posts have not been advertised for a long time.
He questioned election time promise of 50, 000 jobs to the youth of J&K.
“The youth in J&K are dependent on Government service and the same has not been offered to them despite vacancies in different departments,” Ali maintained adding that the Government should make sure that the vacant posts are advertised and accordingly recruitment is conducted on fast-track basis.
He also demanded special recruitment drives in border districts for Army, paramilitary forces and J&K Police.
The Apni Party leader said they will highlight this issue with J&K Lieutenant Governor and flayed the industrial sector for not engaging local skilled and unskilled youth with them.
“People from outside J&K are being employed in the industrial sector here though this sector enjoys subsidies from J&K Government yet they do not employ locals and the Government should take a note on this,” he said.
Ali also claimed that unemployment has pushed many youth to psychological disorder resulting which they have fallen prey to addiction.
He also demanded age relaxation for the youth of J&K in Union Public Service Commission examination. Surjeet Singh, Arif Rather, Raiz Gagkhar, Imtaiz Ahmed, Zaffar Iqbal, Muktar Nawab, Shabir Ahmed, Akash Rajput and others also spoke on the occasion.
