JAMMU, Mar 31: Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO) Udhampur, Col. Sukhbir Singh (retired) along with his team of officials under the aegis of Brigadier Gurmeet Singh Shan (retired), Director Sainik Welfare Department organized awareness programme for ex-servicemen, widows and Veer Naris.
Speaking on the occasion, the ZSWO apprised Veer Naris and the ex-servicemen about various welfare schemes and concessions for the welfare of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris.
He talked about dual family pension from military as well as civil employment, refund of outstanding army group insurance, medical benefit scheme subscription, endorsement of family pension in respect of living pensioners, submission of non marriage certificate to the DPDO by family pensioners and financial assistance to non pensioner ex-servicemen/widow for treatment of serious diseases.
ZSWO Singh also educated the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris about Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme membership, reservation for ex-servicemen in government jobs, PMs scholarship scheme, financial assistance from RMDF, daughter marriage grant and grant of family pension for life to handicapped children of armed forces personnel.
The ZSWO assured every possible help to the Veer Naris and ex-servicemen.
