Zinc futures weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 26: Zinc prices fell by 0.13 per cent to Rs 113.35 per kg in futures market today after speculators off-loaded their positions due to sluggish demand at spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January traded lower by 15 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 113.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 35 lots.
The metal for delivery in December shed 5 paise, or 0.04 per cent to Rs 112.35 per kg in a turnover of 257 lots.
Marketmen attributed the decline in zinc futures to weakness in copper and other metals and subdued domestic demand, besides absence of global cues as the London Metal Exchange is closed today for ‘Boxing Day’ holiday. (PTI)
