Zinc futures soften on weak spot cues

NEW DELHI, June 18: Zinc prices fell 0.54 per cent to Rs 210.85 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions, taking negative cues from spot market on subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June eased by Rs 1.15, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 210.85 per kg in a business turnover of 1,002 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July was trading lower by Rs 1.05, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 210.80 per kg in 57 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on fall in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly led to the slide in zinc prices at futures trade. (PTI)
