Zinc futures soften 0.67 pc on global cues

NEW DELHI, Aug 13:  Zinc prices declined by 0.674 per cent to 141.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions after the metal weakened at the London Metal Exchange (LME) amidst subdued domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August declined by 95 paise, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 141.50 per kg in business turnover of 1,035 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September shed 80 paise, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 142.40 per kg in 61 lots.
Meanwhile, at the London Metal Exchange (LME) zinc retreated as much as 0.5 per cent to USD 2,319 per metric tonne.
Analysts said the decline in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to weakness in copper and other base metals at the LME. (PTI)
