NEW DELHI, June 2: Zinc futures edged up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 137.85 per kg today amid a firm trend at the spot market on rising industrial demand but metal’s weakness at the London Metal Exchange (LME) restricted gains.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June was up by 40 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 137.85 per kg, with a business turnover of 242 lots.
The metal for delivery in July also rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 138.45 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.
Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market mainly influenced zinc prices in futures trade here but metal’s losses at the LME, kept gains restricted. (PTI)
