Zinc futures gain 0.66% on overseas cues, spot demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 4:  Zinc futures edged up by 0.66 per cent to Rs 138 per kg amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand as speculators enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month edged up by 90 paise, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 138 per kg, with a business turnover of 591 lots.
The metal for delivery in January next year also rose by 80 paise, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 138.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 19 lots.
Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market amid a firming trend in base metals overseas supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade. (PTI)
