RAJOURI, May 20: District Election Officer (DC), Rajouri today suspended Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Rajouri for violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) enforced in view of ongoing General Elections- 2019 and terms and conditions of J&K Civil Services (Classification Control & Appeal) Rules 1956.
An official spokesman said that a complaint regarding circulation of video song was received through whatsapp wherein it was alleged that ZEO Rajouri, Abdul Rashid uploaded/ forwarded on social media, which contained objectionable material. He had spoken against a particular political party and supported another one, irrespective of the fact that he was a Government employee.
The DEO through Nodal Officer MCC, Sher Singh (Addl DC) initiated verification and it was found that it was the same ZEO singing the song in the video. It was also established that this video was uploaded from ZEO’s mobile phone number.
After this, the Zonal Education Officer, Abdul Rashid was placed under suspension by the District Election authorities. He will remain attached with the office of Chief Education Officer, Rajouri. DEPO Rajouri shall hold the additional charge as ZEO, Rajouri till further orders, the spokesman said.
