JAMMU, May 7: The Executive Committee of Zeashta Devi Prabhandak Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Bharat Bushan to review the arrangements for the celebration of Zeashta Mata Jayanti falling on May 23. It decided to postpone the annual hawan being performed on that day in view of the counting of Parliamentary elections which will be held in SKICC Hotel, Centaur Srinagar.
The meeting said that as the entire area of Dal Gate will be sealed due to security reasons on that day it will not be possible for the devotees to attend the celebrations in large numbers. The meeting said the birthday celebrations however will be held as usual in the Shrine premises with religious fervour and gaiety but the annual Maha Yagya which as per schedule was to start on May 22 and culminate on May 23 will now be held on May 25 with Puranhuti and Prasad on May 26.
The meeting besides other members was also addressed by its general secretary, Rakesh Koul.
