ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 : Dr Zakir Naik, a prominent religious preacher, has arrived in Pakistan for a month-long visit, delivering lectures in major cities like Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, media reports said on Tuesday.
This is Naik’s first visit to Pakistan in three decades; the last time he visited was in 1992, when he met with religious scholar Dr Israr Ahmed in Lahore before returning to India, the Dawn reported.
Upon his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, Naik was received by officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the PM’s aide, Rana Mashhood, the reports said.
Dr Naik is scheduled to address public gatherings, starting from Karachi on October 5. He will speak in Lahore on October 12 and Islamabad on October 19.
According to reports, he is scheduled to attend public events, meet senior government officials, and participate in various public engagements during his stay in Pakistan until October 28.
Dr Naik, who is visiting Pakistan at the government’s invitation, will be provided with secure accommodation during his month-long stay.
