JAMMU, May 12: On the eve of the 14th Foundation Day of Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K, a grand and impactful drug awareness rally was organised in Jammu with the objective of awakening society, especially the youth, against the growing menace of drug abuse in Jammu & Kashmir and across the nation.
The rally commenced from the historic Maharaja Hari Singh Palace and culminated at the iconic Maharaja Hari Singh Statue, where hundreds of energetic and socially conscious youth participated with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
Participants marched through the route carrying banners, placards, and raising powerful slogans including: The rally witnessed active participation from members of Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K, social activists, students, youth volunteers, and prominent citizens who collectively pledged to strengthen the fight against drug addiction and drug trafficking.
Addressing the media on the occasion, President of Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K, Mandeep Singh Rimpy said that drug abuse has emerged as one of the biggest threats to the younger generation and requires collective social resistance. He stated that the organisation has always stood for social reform, youth empowerment, and preservation of moral values, and this awareness rally was a step towards mobilising society against the dangerous network of narcotics. He emphasized that merely administrative action is not enough unless society itself rises united against this evil. He appealed to parents, teachers, religious organisations, and social bodies to actively participate in guiding the youth towards education, sports, employment, and nationalism.
Core Committee Member and Ex-President, Rajan Singh Happy, while addressing the gathering, stressed that awareness campaigns at the grassroots level are the need of the hour and appreciated the youth who participated in large numbers. He further said that Yuva Rajput Sabha-J&K will continue to raise its voice strongly against drug peddlers and all anti-social elements harming society.
Core Committee Member and Ex-President, Vikram Singh Vicky; Chief Spokesman of the Sabha, Vishal Singh; Core Committee Members Rajinder Singh, Pushvinder Singh and others also addressed the rally.
The programme concluded with participants taking a collective pledge to remain committed towards building a healthy, aware, and drug-free society.
