JAMMU, Oct 2: A delegation of All J&K Young Unemployed Engineers Association (YUEA) met R R Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and presented him a memorandum highlighting the problems of unemployed engineering aspirants.
The delegation comprising Muktesh Yogi, Basharat Ali, Vikas Koul, Shubham Abrol, Ayush Mahajan, Meenakshi, Vishal Saini and others, told the Advisor that every year around 15000 pass outs but not even a single post has been advertised in any branch – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, E&C, IT and Computer from past 7 years.
“The last advertisement of engineers was in 2013-2014. After this not even single posts of engineers whether gazetted or non-gazetted has been advertised”, they added. In 2018, some posts of electrical junior engineer and assistant electrical engineer was advertised but after sometime the posts were withdrawn, they said.
They demanded filling up of vacant posts of all engineering wings – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Communication, Information Technology, Computer etc. and framing a policy for private companies to accommodate J&K engineers’ at least in UT projects.
After giving patient hearing to all these issues pertaining to engineers, Advisor assured that within a month, some of the posts will be advertised and other issues will also redressed soon.
