JAMMU, Sept 5: Up in arms against Monday’s highly objectionable incident of alleged disrespect to the posters of Maharaja Hari Singh by some anti-social elements at MAM College Jammu, members of Yuva Rajput Sabha today held a strong protest demonstration under the leadership of YRS president Rajveer Singh Manhas.
Shouting slogans, the protesting Yuva Rajput Sabha activists demanded stern action against the elements who had torn posters of Maharaja Hari Singh and then attacked the innocent students for intentionally triggering tension in Jammu.
A large number of Yuva Rajput Sabha members assembled near Press Club Jammu under the leadership of Rajveer Singh and held a massive demonstration amidst raising of slogans in the praise of Maharaja Hari Singh and also demanding action against the accused involved in yesterday’s incident.
While addressing the protesters, Manhas warned that Jammu people in general and Yuva Rajput Sabha members in particular would not tolerate any act of disrespect shown to Maharaja Hari Singh and if no strong action is taken by the Police authorities against the culprits, YRS would be forced to adopt harsh steps, direct action and Jammu bandh as well.
He also appealed all Jammuites, irrespective of caste and religion to strongly condemn yesterday’s incident.
Prominent among those who accompanied YRS president, included Raghubir Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Surinder Singh, Mukesh Singh, Rajan Singh, Daljeet Singh, Birinder Partap Singh, Rohit Singh, Arjun Singh, Mohinder Singh, Mesha Chib, Parveen Singh, Vikram Singh, Prem Singh, Raghu Singh, Sandeep Singh, Jodh Singh, Bharat Singh, Karan Singh, Bittu and Bunty.
