RAJOURI, Mar 18: The dead body of 18-year-old youth, who drowned in Rajouri river about two weeks ago was recovered about 500 meters down stream today.
The deceased has been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Muradpur in district Rajouri. One person who had gone to the river site noticed the body trapped in the boulders and informed police. The police party from Rajouri rushed to the spot and identified the deceased. The body had been swollen. It was sent for postmortem to Rajouri hospital and later handed over to the family. The District Administration had put lot of hard work to discover the body after incident but failed. The youth was a local poor labourer and drowned while bathing in the river. The police after performing legal formalities handed over the body to the family for last rites.
