RAJOURI, Apr 1: The dead body of a youth was recovered from a village under Dharamsal police jurisdiction in district Rajouri today.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Sheetal Kumar, son of Madan Lal, resident of Bagla, Thandapani village near Rajouri. Some passers by noticed the body of the youth lying near village Kabukote, in Dharamsal area near and informed police.
The police party from Dharamsal led by SHO reached the spot this afternoon and shifted the body to Kalakote hospital for postmortem. The police contacted the family members of the deceased and started investigation. Some injury marks were also visible on the body, the police said. The family members suspect murder.
The preliminary findings revealed that Sheetal along with two other youth of the area namely, Mohinder Kumar and Vijay Kumar had gone towards Kabukote yesterday. Sheetal left home at around 10 am on Tuesday on bike. He parked his bike at Baiju Morh and then went with Vijay and Mohinder in a WagonR. They had country made (desi) liquor last evening. While, Vijay returned home late night. The other did not return. Police said Mohinder was twisting the story and both Vijay and Mohinder have been placed under sustained interrogation. A case has been registered in this connection.
