JAMMU, Oct 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) state general secretary, Anirudh Sawhney in a statement has said that the youth of J&K stand resolute in its commitment to bring about change in the upcoming elections.
The youth of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed the consequences of decisions made by this government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which have jeopardized their future. Under the BJP’s rule, Jammu and Kashmir faced unprecedented challenges: it was stripped of statehood, faced the prolonged communication blackout that hindered educational and economic opportunities for our youth, and a steep decline in job opportunities coupled with recruitment scams here, mismanagement of Government examinations amongst several other issues.
As a result, the aspirations of our young people have been stifled, and their dreams of a prosperous future have been put in jeopardy. Because of this, they are determined to bring a change in the elections as BJP has failed to meet the expectations, Anirudh Sawhney said.
Sawhney said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have voiced their resolute stance; they will not support the BJP in the next elections. Fuelled by a desire for change, this noise against the BJP reflects the urgency for a new direction in J&K’s political landscape. He said that in response to the challenges created and augmented by the polices and neglect of BJP Government, youth is eager to participate in the democratic process and elect leaders who will prioritize their concerns, aspirations, and well-being.
PYC, as an integral part of this movement, is working tirelessly to mobilize young voters and engage them in the political discourse. We believe that by voting responsibly and advocating for the issues that matter most to our youth, we can chart a new course for Jammu and Kashmir. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are determined to rebuild their future, and the JKPYC is committed to supporting this movement, he said.
He said unhappiness of youth with the BJP Government can be attributed to several factors. The BJP-led Government’s decision to demote Jammu and Kashmir from being a state to a Union Territory, was a major source of discontent. It it is very clear that BJP will not receive any support from Youth of J&K in next elections.
