Youth have a vital role to play in shaping future of State: Sagar

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: Describing youth of Jammu and Kashmir as assets for the National Conference, the party general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar today said that young generation has a vital role to play in shaping future of the State.
Addressing the NC youth district presidents of Kashmir province here at the party headquarters, Mr Sagar stressed upon the youth to read about the sacrifices offered by elders who from the beginning remained fastened to the principles of the party to strengthen it.
“You are the assets of this party. History is witness to the fact that the supreme sacrifices offered by the leaders and the workers of NC are an unforgettable chapter in the history of the State,” Sagar told the gathering adding that National Conference laid the foundations of such a society where justice to everyone, prosperity and development are a paramount.
Pinpointing the achievements of Omar Abdullah’s tenure as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sagar said these years witnessed a lot development in the State and the pro-youth initiatives taken by Omar Abdullah are historic. “The pro-youth initiatives like Himayat Scheme, SKEWP, Udaan and Centre’s Scholarships for youth, were a gift by Omar Abdullah to the youth of the State. It was only during his tenure that 500 youth returned from PoK through rehabilitation policy who are now living a peaceful life with their families,” he said.
He further said that in the last six years, NC Government worked hard to bring peace and prosperity to the State, the results of which were witnessed in the recent elections in which over 70 percent people used their democratic franchise and came out to cast their votes.
