JAMMU, Mar 11: President, Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehrik and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today said that youth of this State should remain vigilant and cautious of the nefarious designs of communal and fascist forces as they will never hesitate to make them scapegoats and ruin their lives for achieving political objectives and win elections at any cost.
He termed the present situation as grave and a potential threat to harmony between various sections of the society as seeds are being sown to create a definite wedge on the basis of religion, caste and creed.
Vakil said present Government has failed to gauge alarming scenario and days are not too far when situation in the State will turn ugly and beyond control and if ill designs are not foiled timely, the situation may worsen and damage the integration of the country.
Vakil was addressing various delegations of youth in Gandhi Nagar Jammu today where hundreds of youth joined J&K Bachao Tehreek.
Vakil urged youth to play positive role to save the idea of composite India and strengthen it at any cost. “Youth can play a vital role to maintain and ensure communal harmony. The present dispensation is concentrating only on political issues and busy in rehabilitating its party functionaries and their kith and kin at the cost of poor and unemployed youth,” Vakil added.
He said that present coalition Government was in hurry to appoint more than twenty Vice Chairmen of different Boards and loot State Exchequer but has no time and resources to tackle unemployment or pay stipend to educated unemployed youth as a primary relief.
He asked the Government to launch without any delay comprehensive employment package so that energy of the youth could be channelized in a right direction and also urged it to desist from rampant backdoor appointments which is fuelling anger amongst youth.
Reiterating his stand on corruption, he said that initiating action against lower and middle level officers or officials is not a solution to the problem unless eradication of corruption from the system starts from the top level and big fishes are not allowed to go scot free.
Vakil demanded probe into backdoor appointments made in various Departments and Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
