JAMMU, Jan 21: A 28-year-old youth killed his father with a sharp edged weapon in Pallanwala area of Akhnoor sector.
According to a police official, a youth identified as Yash Pal son of Suram Chand, resident of Krithpal (Simbal), falling within the jurisdiction of police station Khour, today engaged in verbal duel with his father namely Suram Chand son of Sangara Ram, over some unknown issue.
He said that the both father and son exchanged heated arguments and meanwhile, in a fit of rage, the son attacked his father with a sharp edged weapon (parthi). “The blood-ridden father, whose neck was partially cut in the attack, died on the spot”, he said, adding after conducting post mortem at Primary Health Centre, Pallanwala, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
“A case FIR No 10/2018 under Section 302 RPC was registered in this connection at police station Khour and efforts were on to nab the accused, who was at large”, SDPO Akhnoor, Munish Anand said.
