JAMMU, Aug 29: A non-local youth, who was today found in unconscious condition in Digiana area, died on way to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
According to a police official, the youth identified as Satnam (25) son of Kartar Singh, resident of Gurdaspur (at present Digiana) was found lying on the ground in unconscious condition near Digiana cremation Ground this morning.
He said that the youth was shifted to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, and after providing initial treatment referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“In this connection, Gangyal police has started inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC”, the official said, adding, as per the family members, the deceased was suffering from typhoid for last two months.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, the official added.
