JAMMU, July 30: A 20-year-old youth was today found dead under mysterious circumstances here in a hotel at Jewel area falling within the jurisdiction of police station Nowabad.
“Vikrant Singh Sodhi (20) son of Vikramjeet Singh, resident of House No 3, Sector No 1, Channi Himmat, was found dead this morning in a room of Hotel Pooja at Jewel”, police sources said.
They said that body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while inquest proceedings were initiated in the case by Nowabad police.
“Prima facie it appears to be a case of overdose of drugs, as some cigarettes, wine and syringes were also found from the hotel room, where the youth was found dead”, sources said, adding in the preliminary investigations it came to fore that the deceased had come in the hotel yesterday along with some of his friends, whose identities are yet to be ascertained.
