UDHAMPUR, Jan 29: A youth committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Malhar, here today.
A police spokesman said that Rohit Sharma (22), son of Rampal Sharma, resident of village Malhar in Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. The family members noticed him in serious condition and rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur.
Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, the youth did not respond to the treatment and died after some time. Later, the body was handed over to the family members after postmortem and completion of other legal formalities.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
